The Ubuntu start up sound in Dapper was excellent. Somehow since Edgy it
sounds like a Casio keyboard was left in a kindergarten.

Just my 2 cents added:
Each time I hear the rattle at the end I think my cdrom/hard drive is
about to explode. That sound isn't healthy. Reminds me far too much of
something mechanical breaking down. Maybe that's just me, but I thought
I'd mention it.

I think the new startup sound is nice, in composition, but I dislike the
actual samples used, as they sound like they are taken directly from the
Korg X5D synthesizer, which makes it sound rather homemade.
Is it possible to remake the sound with different samples? Maybe this
would fix this bug as
