So ... it seems that you need to add Stupid Mode = yes (or 1) option to
/etc/wvdial.conf. Also I had to set thet username and password to
"blank" in order to work. I would like to see this made automatically.

No, the special value "blank" has the same effect. I remember using it
lat year and there is a workaround for this, but I agree that it should
work normally without any username/password.
I'll post again when I find that workaround.
