The drivers have provided the ABI version before too, but perhaps the
mesa build-deps were not strict enough when we tracked upstream
snapshots. Now there is no need to do that anymore.

libdri.so is provided by xserver-xorg-core (source: xorg-server), which
happens to conflict with video drivers that do not Provide the correct
video driver ABI (currently xserver-xorg-video-2). That Provides is
generated automatically when the drivers are

Have a chat with Adam Conrad. The problem is the libdri ABI is
unversioned - or was. Its not a matter of testing though, because unless
there is skew nothing is wrong ;).
