FYI: Trying to install this currently and I can't get the workaround to

Method:
As soon as press Install Ubuntu Server Alt+F2 to terminal session
ln -s /cdrom/ /media/cdrom
It still asks me to insert the disk to /media/cdrom during the
installation :(

Good news:) I've managed to install the system yesterday. Only trouble is I've
done 2 things and I'm not so sure which one of them actually cured my problem:
1. I found out that my BIOS is obsolete so I've upgraded it to its latest
version
2. During the installation from the alternate CD for

yesterday (don't know what build it is thought). Checked the CD for
errors - none found. Tried the workaround when I had the message popping
up I've switched to tty 2, the CDROM was mounted /cdrom/ and i could see
the files,
Just bumped into this bug, I guess: clean install of Kubuntu 11.04 AMD64 using
alternate cd, full disk with guided partitioning.
Failed twice, checked the cdrom for errors and found none, spotted this report.
Workaround for me was symlink + cd'ing to /media/cdrom (just in case the link

I have the same problem on the alternate amd64 iso.
This is after I've spent 3 weekends trying to install an upgrade on my
previously broken 10.04.
What a sad state of affaire.
It seems to me that the repository list in apt is still set to look for
the CD with that name.

I appear to be having a similar problem on 64 bit alternate installer.
I tried ln -s 'ing /cdrom to /media/cdrom at very beginning of install
I can see contents in /media/cdrom and at /cdrom
I selected 'guided using entire drive' without LVM
the message is:
