I bought a new Acer Aspire E1-571-3114G50Mnks laptop for my father a few
weeks ago and installed Ubuntu 13.04 on it. It seems I have a similar
problem. The wireless network is hidden.
Here are the last lines of the output of lspci -v...:

Oops... I figured out that I pressed a wrong button on the web interface
of my OpenWrt router yesterday when I set the MAC filter. Sorry... It
works now.

What do you mean by configure the interfaces archive, in the
description of the bug?
I think it would likely really help if you could attach the whole
/var/log/syslog after a clean reboot to this bug report.

Could create an option in network-manager to select the channel for connection

Any conclusions?? I am still having the problem!
NetworkManager: info Activation (wlan0/wireless): association took
too long.
It seems that network-manager have a problem to associate with hidden
access points.
