The empathy side of the issue got fixed in quantal by dropping empathy-
preferences.desktop (the preferred way to configure account is uoa)

If Gwibber uses the same accounts as other applications (i.e. Online
Accounts), those accounts should go in System Settings. If it doesn't,
they shouldn't. Either way, I agree the right solution is not to have
separate launchers for application vs. preferences/accounts.

Would the suggestion for gwibber be to stop shipping separate launchers
for preferences, accounts and the client? Ideally we would embed
gwibber-preferences in control-center.

we should just distro patch empathy and gwibber to not show their
settings and preferences in the search, (that was done for gwibber at
one stage)
