anyway, everything was okay with my openoffice apps until i used apt-get to
install kubuntu (over ubuntu) today. when i use the kubuntu session, if i open
an xls or doc file... the icons and menu texts could not be seen
Same problem: OpenOffice 2.3, Kubuntu 7.10, on an Acer TM2480 laptop:
The toolbars and menu bar disappear, and only the item under the cursor
becomes visible. Dropdowns go blank as soon as the cursor touches them,
then only the item under the cursor appears. This began as an
