1. Open the Dash.
2. Type some text.
3. Press Shift+Left to select some of the text.
4. Press Ctrl+X.
What happens: Nothing.
What should happen: The text should be cut, as it would be in a native text
field.

This bug affects me as well. However, instead of seeing nothing as the
OP, the selected text is replaced by a (seemingly unrenderable)
character (but it's not in the clipboard). See the attached screenshot
