Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub2

Updated my existing wubi natty install and on reboot, it dropped to a
grub> shell

Managed to manually boot using linux=/boot/vmlinuz... root=/dev/sda4
loop=/ubuntu/....root.disk

i use sda4 because ubuntu is installed on the 4th partition of my hard
drive. (1st is recovery, 2nd is boot loader, 3rd is C drive and 4th is
d: drive)

i then ran update-grub once the system booted up.

That seemed to go ok since it picked up all entries nicely.

After reboot, this time when i selected ubuntu in the windows boot
loader, two or three lines of grub shell quickly appear and the computer
reboots. I think i found the problem though.

I booted a lucid liveusb so that i could examine what was in grub.cfg.

I notice all the entries with the lines:

set root='(/dev/sda,msdos4)'

appear to be wrong. it seems kinda confused to be either (hd0,4) or (/dev/sda4)
so anyway i replaced all those /dev/sda,msdos4 entries with /dev/sda4 and the
system booted without issue.

So i guess that should be fixed.
