Ok I found it, you should have gstreamer0.10-lame, that did the trick.

Is there a reason why this isn't installed by default when you tick the
Install non-free software checkbox in the installer?
It seems like a major omission from the list, if MP3 is supported for
everything else.
If this isn't the place to ask this sort of

I am not sure about if this it's a real issue or not because if you go
to Preferences-Source Specific-Source-Audio Cds you are able to
choose which format you want use to import automatically, even Ogg -
Wav and MP3.
