Do you mean that you should be able to go from 'Applications' Lens to
'Files Folders' Lens without having to close 'Applications' lens
first?

PS: to activate the launcher you have to hit the hot corner(top left of
your screen) there is no need to click on the ubuntu button.

Yes ;) Change from one to another by click. Not move the mouse
