Strangely enough your log doesn't contain a backtrace and it seems the
process didn't exist any more, when you tried to get the backtrace.

Given it doesn't appear that Nautilus is actually crashing, it is likely
hanging while walking the directory tree on the ssh machine, hence why
it only hangs while you have tree view up.

I'm still running Dapper.
I ran the backtrace as described in the wiki page, but frankly it doesn't look
like it got any useful information:
(gdb) handle SIG33 pass nostop noprint

What version of Ubuntu do you use? Could you get a backtrace as
described on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace (with libgnomevfs2-0-dbg
libglib2.0-0-dbg nautilus-dbg installed) when you get the hang?
