as i posted in the bugtracker updating to 2.0 (and disabling gapless
playback as good measure) solved the problem for me

Florian, this seems to not be a banshee problem but in any case have you
tried to disabled gapless? looks like a workaround for this issue ( I
found it at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=612929)
