Amarok 1.4.5-0ubuntu6 was released with fixes to the mp3 installation
script. If possible, could you please test on feisty with an upgraded
amarok and see if it's still a problem? Thanks

Great! I'm thinking the crash on install mp3 support might have
something to do with Universe being enabled. Was it already enabled
when you just now installed those packages manually?
