Just did a daily update/upgrade/reboot cycle and I cannot reproduce
(yet). I am not using the ppa. My chromium version is 10.0.648.205
(81283) Ubuntu 11.04
It seems to work, but since i'm not sure how I got into the situation, i
hesitate to close this.

have fixed this. I'm using daily PPA for Chromium.
