I've noticed something. I don't know if this helps, but when I moved the router next to my computer, my speeds went up dramatically, and I didn't have dropped connections. When I move the computer away from the router, the connection drops and becomes buggy. This is still a bug and isn't related

I can confirm the same problem: I'm the happy owner of Asus G53sx-a1 laptop running 11.04 currently. The original ath9k driver that is installed by default craps out on me every 5 minutes or so if I download stuff at max speed. So I have installed compact-wireless driver following:
