Thank you Mike,
we have not given up and have about two dozen of these tablets nicely
running Lubuntu Xubuntu (both are 12.x). I'll forward this to the team
and we will try some of those settings. Just last night, the team was
looking at alsamixer to make the 3 built-in microphones work. I am
I realize that this is an ancient one; but here's the answer:
On the LE1600, the audio is not connected to the normal ports of the
STAC9758.
Using alsamixer, set the following. There is no easy way to do this, as
I don't have a .store file; you have to navigate through the alsamixer
interface,

I can't get any sound out of Nted. The Nted documentation says it isn't
their fault, that I have a problem with playing any Midi. I did the
ubuntu-bug audio thing and I could hear the test tones, but I can't hear
any midi.
I am a complete beginner in Linux/Ubuntu.
