X fails to start in dapper, edgy with ati X600/X700/X800 (control not
delegated to radeon driver, ati complains about Mach64).

PS: I have a diffentent problem in the AMD64 version. The vesa driver does not
work in this version and I have also no way to give any logs since the system
freezes when trying to run startx
(Should I report it elsewhere?)

I am sorry to say that they will simply laught at it and throw it
away...
This was said in a way I didn't mean to. Ubuntu is a great OS - the best
linux distro ever, but this is a huge problem, and it has been there for
some time now
