[Bug 776028] Re: cannot see remote screen during VNC server connection

2015-03-23 Thread Alexander List
I see the same problem using two machines running trusty amd64. However, in my case the remote system was configured to prompt the user for confirmation to allow incoming VNC connections. You may want to ensure this is not the case. The behaviour can be changed using vino-preferences, and then

I was trying to connect to a machine right next to me and the vinagre session was black, but the system I connected to responded to all mouse events (didn't try keyboard) within the vinagre window. SO the connection was in place, just no image. I tried several different resolution / compression

I noticed that although the screen is black, it is connected. If I shut down screen sharing on the Mac, vinagre reports that the connection has been lost. KRDC works fine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu.

Problem confirmed on my 11.04 install as well connection to Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Vinagre asks for a username/password pair (and only allows up to 8 characters for the password) and just displays a black screen. Remmina works when I just provide the VNC password that I set up on the Mac side
