I'm sorry, but I don't think I booted into the live-CD part of the DVD.
So I don't think I gave Oneiric the chance to display this problem. If
I'm the only one having this problem I'm probably one of the few people
with this hardware or something like that. Let's close it.

Hi rew, thanks for checking. If you're no longer able to reproduce it
on Oneiric after updating, I guess we can consider the issue solved
(locating the patch that fixed it could be quite challenging). Can you
confirm that on Oneiric all your dual-head hardware is now behaving
properly?

I switched to Oneiric on two of my systems. I have not seen the bug. But
then again I don't think I booted into the live CD mode of the DVD.
It seems to be my home system that I reported this on.
On both systems I had trouble getting the system to run in dual screen
mode. On one

doesn't appear to have much activity recently. So, now that oneiric
is released and stable, this may be a good point for you to upgrade
and re-test if this issue is still present there.

I just managed to boot into the real installation, and when switching to
dual monitor there, it did the same thing: garbage on the second
monitor. I went to get my camera, and when I got back it had reverted to
the old settings. Trying it a second time shows a perfect image on the
second monitor.
