There is a quite simple workaround. You need to insmod 3w-sas.ko just after
installation starts. To to this:
1. Download linux-image-2.6.38-8-generic package from
http://packages.ubuntu.com/natty/linux-image-2.6.38-8-generic
2. Extract 3w-sas.ko from the linux image package
3. Download ubuntu
This is an issue for me as well. The driver was included in Maverick.
