The odd thing here is that this *should* be handled - we call
'keystatus' first without arguments to find out if getting key modifier
status is supported, and fall back to alternative code if it isn't. But
I can quite well believe that there are problems here.

I can run anything you like to collect info. The machine is a ThinkPad
x120e (1.12) in pure-EFI mode.
