I have been able to reproduce the bug in Saucy, same message about the
swap. I'll try this workaround

My previous installs did use LVM, but I was able to reproduce it with
Precise release with or without the use of LVM, or when booting from CD
(the notebook used for testing did not support USB boot). Precise server
installed using LVM with a dm-crypt partition containing a swap file
triggered it

Did a fresh install of Xubuntu 12.04 and selected encrypted Home during
Live CD install and got the same bug after rebooting. On the first
reboot I managed to login but after the second reboot it would not reach
the login screen. I can't submit any logs etc as I had to quickly wipe

I have this bug with Ubuntu 11.10 and it is also intermittent. I just
wait and it boots.
See attached screen shot of Gparted. Note that swap (/dev/sda5) is
unknown.
