Not installing by default leads to issues like bug 824466 because users
may not know that they need to install additional packages to get a core
feature to work.

For anyone running into this issue - the package name is libreoffice-
presenter-console. Install it after installing 12.04 and voilà: working
like a charm (once you've set the 'Presentation display' to 'Display 2'
in the Slide Show Settings).
Still, this should definitely be a part of the default

I'm re-adding the ubuntu-meta task as I believe this should be installed
by default as a recommends of libreoffice-impress. The extension
(bundled by default for Windows, Mac, and Fedora users) significantly
improves Impress's usability for its primary purpose: giving
presentations with an

dependency, and subsequently part of the Live CD or default install, it would
be done by libreoffice in main:

Ok, if the ubuntu-meta task is inappropriate, then I'm reopening the
libreoffice task. Having this bug closed as Invalid or Opinion is
clearly inappropriate as it's not been proven (or even discussed to any
degree at all) that it definitely should not happen.

Aw man... If only I had seen this bug report sooner, that would have
saved me a hell of a lot of frustration. See #824466.
So I guess it's too late now to add the presenter console to the
desktop-p-default-apps blueprint, right? If not, I would happily join
the discussion and provide reasons why
That argument flawed. The default install does not contain a full libreoffice
install (for example base is missing). If presenter console shall be included,
there need to be better reasons for it. This would need discussion as per:
