It's already fixed in Oneiric, however.
Nouveau on 64-bit systems works 32-bit as well, out-of-the-box.

libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental lacks 32-bit
At the nvidia binary driver, the 32-bit libs are shipped in the amd64
package. I did not know that it was different for open-source drivers.
But OK, I'll wait for the next release and hope that it indeed works as
described.

We don't actually ship 32bit libraries in any of the amd64 mesa
packages. The support you're seeing for other cards comes from the
32bit libGL/dri libraries in ia32-libs. Reassigning to that package.
Note that dpkg-multiarch is implemented in Oneiric, so you can just
install the 32bit packages
