I am doing exactly what the pam_mount.conf file suggests and it no
longer works:-( It would be seriously annoying to have this problem in
feisty...

Maybe try to use edgy version to see if the issue comes from pam-mount
or something else

I can manually mount the partition before and after trying to log in, so
dm-crypt should not be the problem.

Are you using openssl encrypted passphrases?
When logging in on the console I get the message Error in service
module, and I am back to the loggin prompt.
Any ideas how I can go about debugging this problem?

partition):/
Did you load the dm-crypt module before trying to mount the partition?

I edited the file a bit and removed everything but one user (and
replaced the login name of that one with LOGIN), but I still have the
same behaviour with this file.
