After one of the latest updates brightness control started working.
Sadly the effect is far from desired. There are only 3 levels of
brightness and the difference between them is to big. Going anywhere
below 3rd. level makes screen flicker. I believe this might be also
related to nvidia driver.

Well I've reported it upstream but somehow don't think it's getting to
the kernel any time soon :(
