Public bug reported:

After selecting "Check disc for defects", the splash screen appears and
begins scrolling through the progress dots. This will continue forever,
with no text being displayed.

If Esc is pressed, you can see that the disc check is being done in the
background. And indeed, if you press any key during the splash screen
(after giving sufficient time for the check to complete), the progress
dots will all light up (indicating the task is complete) and the LiveCD
will reboot as it should.

This bug is in both Ubuntu and Lubuntu Alpha 3 ISOs.
