It appears to be happening for me again too :( I may try compiling my own
plib later, to see if that fixes it like it did last time...

This appears to be a problem with plib.. while working through this in
the #flightgear channel, i have now got flightgear working using my own
compiled plib 1.8.5rc1, compiled simgear 1.0.0 and compiled flightgear

This was still an issue even with compiled simgear 1 and flightgear 1,

Just an update that's still an issue.
There's some accounts about creating a .openalrc file pointing to alsa but the
problem remains.

Today's ubuntu kernel update fixes this (js_demo also)

Same deal as Matthew,
fgfs --log-level=debug attached.
Immediate seg fault for js_demo and fgjs also.
Kubuntu 7.04; x86_64 - has never run! Moving the
/usr/share/games/FlightGear/Input/Joysticks directory out of the way (I
admit it a long shot!) - no change.

I suspect that these crashes are the result of a problem with another
package installed - even compiling my own flightgear from the source
packages available at flightgear.org does not fix this problem - i've
replaced both flightgear and fgfs-base.

Running js_demo also gives a segfault immediately.

This is still happening, but when trying flightgear recently, it started
normally once. Then, every time after that when I start it it segfaults as
before.
The first time it worked, but after that, it doesnt:
The freeglut error occured, iirc, when i pressed the close button.

I can confirm this is happening too, with latest updates on feisty. I'm
