I think my problem also belongs here. I updated my Toshiba Satellite laptop
from Natty to Oneiric yesterday (22.10.2011) around noon. I got the missing
dependencies error too. The upgrade finished, and I restarted the system. Since
then I can't boot into the desktop. The usual option gives me a

Am I the only one with the debsum errors and a unusable system? Should I
open another bug? In that case against which package? Or is the only
option to wipe everything out and reinstall Oneiric ?

This bug was fixed 14 hours ago, it might be the updated package has not gotten
to the mirrors yet.
The system is not instantaneous, even though we all want it to be. I would say
this should be working within 48 hours. It should not be necessary to reinstall
Oneiric to get the fix, just
In my case at least, any apt update or installation terminates with
errors (see the bug description) so I don't know if an update would work
for me. As I mentioned earlier, updating working programs like firefox
makes them (afterwards) freeze on startup(beacuse the any update
terminates with

most critical has been worked on.
Could you please file another report for the debsums issue? That will avoid
mixing problems.

The brltty-x11 package shouldn't depend on legacy at-spi stuff, forgot
that users would still have this installed on upgrade. Fixing now.
