The point was it didn't race cpu like this before updates.
And currently after recent updates it's back to previous behaviour again like
racing to ~ 23% cpu for about 2 sec, immediately after login.
Thanks, we do know that cpu carries out the instructions of a computer
program.

If it goes back down to a normal idle, then this doesn't really seem
like a bug. Using the CPU is what computer programs do.

I've noticed similar problem. When my pc is idle with only firefox
running, the console top command shows 27% cpu utilization from Compiz.

can't be reproduced here. On idle time compiz is using 0,4 percent cpu,
using 2,1 percent mem. Please report a new bug, thanks.
