Thanks for taking your time to report this bug. A new version of the
package is avaible in intrepid and a new version has been accepted in
hardy-backports. Can you please test if the same problem exists in
either of these versions?

I second that. The issue came up after one of the latest updates for
hardy and it also affects rapidsvn so I think it may be libsvn related.
Commandline svn up works though.

I have this same issue when it checks for updates only it happens in all
kdesvn instances, kio with konq, part with quanta and even the kdesvn
gui
