I had a corrupted ~/.cache/oneconf directory, causing oneconf-server to
crash (a KeyError in hosts.py: self.current_host['hostid']) and then I
would see the same DBusException from the oneconf-query client as
described above.
Deleting ~/.cache/oneconf fixed it for me.

On an Oneiric i386 system, I got this crash after a crash in oneconf-
service (as expected, given the information here), but I was unable to
report that crash because oneconf was at an obsolete package version.
