NetworkManager does not recognise any interface after upgrade to 2.6.20-7

Chris, I cannot reproduce it anymore. For the record, my ./interfaces is
as follows:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /etc/network/interfaces
# This file describes the network interfaces available on your system
# and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5).
# The loopback network
Glad everything is working for you now, closing this bug.

Network manager can only run an interface that does exist.
If you have any configured interfaces in /etc/network/interfaces then
network manager can do nothing with it. Try commenting out any lines
that are in this file and see if it repairs the fault.
This is how mine currently looks and
I confirm that this behaviour occurs on 2.6.20-6.1 with a wired network
that works fine (DHCP).
Just upgraded to Feisty from Edgy without a hitch, apart from that.

Hmmm... it appears NetworkManager freaks out when it finds something already
existing in /etc/network/interfaces.
As soon as I deleted all custom stuff, it worked fine...

let he rephrase the last comment: no signals seem to be received by
[EMAIL PROTECTED](), even if I unplug/re-plug the wired interface, or
if I disable/re-enable radio on the wireless.

booting back into 2.6.20-6 works. So... hal/udev/dbus/NM interfaces seem
to have changed from .20-6 to .20-7.

a bit more of info: I ran gdb on NetworkManager, and it seems to go as
far as line 851 in NetworkManager.c ( a call to g_main_loop_run()). It
never returns from there.
