Public bug reported: Binary package hint: vdccm
vdccm must be installed suid and run as a regular user for it to correctly interact with other pieces of the synce framework. Running the version currently provided in feisty results in: "Could not start - either because vdccm is not installed suid or you start directly as root" After executing 'sudo chmod a+s /usr/bin/vdccm' and re-running vdccm, the daemon launches successfully, and a connection to my Windows Mobile device can be maintained. ** Affects: vdccm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- vdccm is not setuid https://launchpad.net/bugs/84854 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
