I do think there is no direct upstream in terms of bügreporting, this
might be helpful recommended if you use a version outside the standard
packaging helps in total.

Pls check also if guest-additions and extension-pack (if installed) are
in line with Virtualbox Version No.

Off-topic: I've just upgraded (well, reinstalled as upgrade broke badly)
to Oneiric so I'll retest this bug with newer version of Unity

I'm running 4.1.4, I'll check if this happens again.
TBH I avoid testing this because it can easily make virtualbox
unusable and requires shutting
I just tested this on 4.1.4, still happens:
Steps to reproduce:
1) Boot windows XP with guest additions
2) Turn on full-screen mode
3) Turn off full-screen mode
The unity menu is now empty.
