Thank you for reporting this issue about xserver-xorg-video-nv. Starting
with Lucid, Ubuntu is transitioning to using the -nouveau video driver
by default instead of -nv. The reason for this change is because
upstream development for the -nv driver has been quite slow. We are

Yes, alas. I just tried to switch back to nv and visit digg.com.
Scrolling this page up and down with Page Up a and Page Down keys
results in very sluggish redrawing of content. Maybye it's because the
rendering of pages like that with Gecko 1.8 is so resources demanding
that the open driver it's

No, but it looks that the main fix for it was installation of
proprietary driver for nvidia card after all. Maybe the open nv driver
has problem with rendering more complex pages with gecko.
I'm not sure if this bug can be closed. Perhaps the Affects field
should be changed from epiphany-browser
IMO the problem can't be with Gecko, or you would still have it. Do you
remind if you also had this bug with Firefox ?

Yes, with Firefox it was the same. OK with Opera.
I just tried to switch the graphic card driver back to nv and the problem
appears again. So it must be something with it. Bad luck for opensource driver.

News: Some friends of mine noticed the same issue — on Digg, last.fm,
etc. — with any gecko-based browser in Feisty. Browsing these sites
rapidly increases X's CPU usage up to 100%, so whole system slows down.
It must be something with gecko and CSS rendering.

- Epiphany in Feisty herd 4 renders (and scrolls) the pages some sluggish,
jerky way, in comparation with Firefox (which is OK).
- To reproduce this bug, simply go to http://digg.com and see what happens when
you try to scroll
PS: OK, now I'm testing it again (for now from live CD), and it seem
that it depends on the time spent on the website (even in Firefox). It
changes from time to time - sometimes it renders and scrolls good,
sometimes it gets jerky again. Still best best seen on digg - try to
scroll with scrollbar
