It works fine in Mint 12, which is weird, but not in Ubuntu 11.10

Sorry, that's no solution because I loose systray then. What I expect is
that I can open bittorrent window from within notification area.

browse to home. Locate .config/qBittorrent/qBittorrent.conf. right click 'open
with text editor'. Scroll to heading [Preferences]
change values of these lines to false as below..
General\SystrayEnabled=false
General\CloseToTray=false
General\MinimizeToTray=false
General\StartMinimized=fa
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
** Changed in: qbittorrent (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Confirmed
