I thank you that you had take a look at this old bug report.
Currently, having 2 Ubuntu machines (one on 16.04 and another on 18.04), I
never had this issue anymore.
It seems to be fixed.

Got this problem too. Don't know since when but I think this is maybe
related to the recent update to Firefox 8. Maybe this is fixed when we
get the new Thunderbird at last.
