The upgrade to 12.04 didn't solve the problem for me (at least for kubuntu). The kde apps still don't ask for authentication (e.g., okular); gnome apps (e.g., evince) do ask for authentication, but it doesn't print and the print monitor shows the job as Held. This is with 1.5.2-9ubuntu1. -- You
