Wi-fi won't connect in 11.10.

My wi-fi is working again. I found this command at some forum:
sudo apt-get purge bcmwl-kernel-source broadcom-sta-common broadcom-sta-
source
After that I run:
dpkg --configure -a
and afrerwords aptitude and suddenly wi-fi was working. I have no idea
how did I do it but it works...

nmcli dev wifi list shows:
SSID BSSID MODE FREQ
RATE SIGNAL SECURITY ACTIVE
and iw dev wlan0 scan dump shows nothing
The strange thing is that I see the wireless networks but I can't
connect.

It's unusual to not be seeing any scan results here.
Could you please try the following two commands?
nmcli dev wifi list
iw dev wlan0 scan dump
For the second one, you'll need to install the 'iw' package (sudo apt-
get install iw). The goal is to try and see elsewhere if there are scan
