Could you please mention specifically which symbol(s) are incorrect,
where, and what should they? Was this document exported directly from
Word and then immediately attached, or was it edited, saved, and then
attached?

I attached two screenshots - one from MS Word, another from LO. The difference
in rendering is clearly visible as well as all incorrect symbols.
The document was created in MS Office and then opened in LO 3.4.3. If I save it
in LO and then reopen in Word the formulas are Ok, so the problem is
