Confirmed on KUbuntu 11.10 amd64. The problem goes away with a different
color scheme.
As Toni noted, it seems that LibreOffice does not honor the Tooltips
text setting in the Color section of the KDE System Settings
application. In fact, it seems the program always uses black as the text
color
