Public bug reported:

Whenever I safely remove my external hard drive (NTFS) the computer
crashes, and the only way I can get out of it is by rebooting. At first
I thought it happened because of something with my vgaswitcheroo setup,
becauseI have my ATI card turned off and it crashes, then when turned
on, it does not. I thought that was the case until recently I tried it
again (with the ATI card turned on), and the OS crashed.

I am assuming this is a kernel bug because I see an "oops" and "panic"
sometimes when my computer blurts out the messages (and then finally
freezes completely).

My hardware are:
Laptop Model: MSI-CX420
CPU: Intel Core i3-330M
GPU: ATI Radeon 5470 (and the integrated chip of Intel Core i3)

Platform:
OS: Linux Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit

It's my first time reporting a bug (so maybe I missed something here?),
and I am no expert in linux (just a frequent user) so I might need a lot
of help when it comes to giving the crash dumps and the like. (I did
include a report from Apport)
