However, for the record, I have double checked my original mesa source
download mesa_6.5.1~20060817-0ubuntu4 (from apt-get source mesa) and
it definitely does not contain the referenced patch, but
mesa_6.5.2-3ubuntu1 from a more recent
this upload should fix this. Note that the patch will be removed when
feisty+1 opens, so feel free to reopen this if this bug happens with
feisty+1 (note that I haven't been able to reproduce this on any of my
hardware combinations...)

patch you pointed is part of the package so your description doesn't
really makes sense. Are you sure you don't have a binary driver package
install for nvidia or fglrx even if you don't use it?
