On Ubuntu server *only* the Ubuntu installer needs to automatically
determine if  the system being installed is a Dell "PowerEdge" server
and if so, biosdevname gets enabled by default.  If not, biosdevname is
not used.  One option is to use 'dmidecode -s system-product-name' to
detect this.

Additionally, there should be a manual bypass of biosdevname by passing
biodevname=0 to the boot prompt.
