when installing through synaptic package manager or apt-get the following comes up: libgtk2.0-dev: Depends: libxcursor-dev but it is not going to be installed Depends: libxfixes-dev but it is not going to be installed ----------------- when trying to install libfixes-dev the following comes up as error: ibxfixes-dev: Depends: libxfixes3 (=1:3.0.1.2-0ubuntu3) but 1:4.0-0ubuntu1 is to be installed ------------------ Attempt to uninstall libfixes3 so libfixes can be put in will give an unattractive result of removing gdm, gnome and half the system Please excuse the ignorance but I do not know how to get out of the silly reasining loop. Maybe I'm too new at this... :-) ps I have done apt-get update and apt-get upgrade and it does not help ** Affects: gtk+2.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- dependencies will not resolve https://launchpad.net/bugs/89652 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
