Ubuntu in charge of fixing bugs
When I was running Kubuntu I ended up writing a xorg.conf to arrange the
monitors which I've attached. You don't put it in /etc/X11/xorg.conf it
goes in /usr/share/xorg.d/ or something like that.

same here cept on laptop I set LVDS1 as primary at 1366x768 and
secondary at 1024x768. Doesn't save and after restart both displays are
mirrored at 1024x768. Works perfectly in oneiric. Definitely a
regression.
