Showing a warning about ~/.cache only solves this one bug report. Processes writing outside of an eCryptfs-mounted subdirectory is the actual issue and, I believe, an issue that is understood when using partial disk encryption. Also, Ubuntu no longer offers ~/Private encryption from the installer.

Perhaps the ecryptfs tools should inform the user that moving ~/.cache into ~/Private is a recommended practice, or alternatively the sharing of encrypted files in Ubuntu One should be only allowed if the user is warned there is an associated risk. -- You received this bug notification because yo
