Public bug reported: Seems like your new X windowing manager breaks java exclusive mode by making the windows "exclusive" to another context, so they are always under the current window and the current window is unselectable.
Install netbeans press ALT+SHIFT+ENTER to go to fullscreen and open a dialog (open project "works") to see a example.
